No Better Israel Firster, Than The UN's Ban Ki-Moon

The UN was brought into existence to facilitate peace and stability, throughout the globe.

But, apparently the new Secretary-General of the United Nations, has changed its mandate, by refusing to meet and enter into a constructive dialogue with Hamas.

He deliberately and undiplomaticaly chose to exclude Hamas from his meeting, and only met with the Fatah members of the new Palestinian Unity Government.

U.N. Chief Balks At Hamas Talks:

Earlier Sunday, Abbas met with U.N. chief Ban Ki-moon, who said the time is "not yet fully ripe" to meet with Hamas officials. Ban met with non-Hamas members of the new coalition. Rice snubbed even U.S.-backed moderates in the Cabinet.

"At this time, I do not have plans to meet with Prime Minister Haniyeh or other Hamas Cabinet ministers," Ban said, expressing hope the new government's actions would "show a genuine commitment to the basic principles ... of peace."

This Was The Israeli Response:

Israel welcomed the decisions by Rice and Ban not to meet with Hamas officials.

"We are happy to see world leaders and prominent figures like the secretary general continuing to uphold the Quartet principles," Eisen said.

"The Government Is One Team:" Is The Palestinian Response:

Palestinian officials rejected the notion of diplomatic cherry-picking.

"This government is one team," Information Minister Mustafa Barghouti said. "Whoever meets with one member is meeting with the whole government."

With the exception of a senior Norwegian official, a stream of foreign officials in recent days has refused to meet with Hamas Cabinet members. And the withheld funding has not been restored.

Ban and Rice are in the area ahead of the Arab Summit, which is to revive the 2002 peace plan.

The proposal calls for full diplomatic relations between the entire Arab world and the Jewish state in exchange for full Israeli withdrawal from lands captured in the 1967 Mideast war.

Israel rejects full withdrawal. It also rejects the plan's endorsement of the right of hundreds of thousands of Palestinian refugees and their descendants to return to their properties in what is now Israel.

The Israelis say a large-scale return of refugees would mean the end of the country's identity as a Jewish state.

Rice told reporters she wanted changes made in the Saudi plan.

It's bad enough that Rice is still enforcing the US boycott, but, the UN Secretary-General has no right to choose sides, and exclude others from negotiations.

Hamas was democratically, legally and legitimately elected by the Palestinian people, in a highly clean and fair election. And now, a New Palestian Unity Government is in place, and has the backing of many Arab nations.

The US, Eu, and especially the UN, MUST respect the wish and choice of the Palestinain people and honorably deal with their elected officials.

The UN is supposed to be, non-aligned and extend an open hand to all parties.

It blessed and encouraged the talks between the British and the IRA, as it did with the Sri Lanka government and the Tamil Tigers.

Otherwise, the UN is a failed organization and must be scrapped, with the intent of creating a more balanced and inclusive organization, that doesn't only cator to the selfish interests of a handful of nations.

I say the new UN Secretary-General is biased, and pro-Israeli and anti-Palestinian, from the start.

Here Is What The Egyptian Newspaper, Al-Akhbar Had To Say On The New UN Likudnik Chief:

The UN Didn’t Witness A Secretary-General So Sympathetic With Israel As Ban Ki-Moon

Pity that the Iraqi resistance missed him, Al-Akhbar newspaper translated parts of Y’Net Israeli newspaper [Hebrew edition] interview with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon.

For 60 years the United Nations didn’t witness a secretary-general so sympathize with Israel as Ban Ki-Moon revealing that he gave the the Israeli representative to the United Nations “Dan Gillerman” his private mobile phone, so they can talk in the evenings and in the weekend.

During the interview, Ki-Moon said that his love to Israel is similar to South Korea, pointing out is that Koreans are the “Jews of Asia”.

Also he said that he was impressed with achievements of a small country as Israel and it is similar to the achievements of South Korea, both undergone many wars and difficult enemies.

The newspaper said that Ki-Moon put in his office photos of his meetings with families of Israeli soldiers prisoned by Hizballah.

The Iraqi Resistance Welcomes Ban Ki-Moon To Baghdad:

Surprise, Suprise! Say Hello Ban ki-Moon

An amazing act and excellent timing from Iraqi resistance. Which show that can anywhere, anytime and everywhere, of their choosing.

All This is after four years of brutal and destructive occupation.

The AOF (American Occupation Forces) can’t even secure their own Green Zone!
